Wisdom Wednesday

On October 15, the Church celebrates the feast of St. Teresa of Avila, a great Carmelite nun, saint, & doctor of the church. For today's quote, I am sharing a prayer of hers. This is a prayer I was first introduced to many years ago when I was part of a small church community. Our group met twice a month to read & discuss the upcoming weekend's readings, pray the rosary, & intercede for one another. We shared our joys & pains, births & deaths, triumphs & trials. Each meeting was ended with this prayer, which became a blessing to each of us until we met the next time.

Although most of us have kept in touch, our group eventually dissolved & over time, I had forgotten about this prayer until a friend shared it on Facebook a few weeks ago.

***************

"May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us."
